Tribunal: We’ve 47 witnesses against PDP, says APC

The All Progressives Congress in Akwa Ibom State,
has urged Nigerians to disregard a statement
credited to the state’s Attorney General and
Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Uwemedimo Nwoko,
that the APC lacked witnesses at the election
petitions tribunal.
It was learnt that Nwoko had, during a radio
broadcast by the Akwa Ibom Broadcasting
Corporation, said that the APC had run out of
witnesses to testify against its political opponents
in the Akwa Ibom State Election Petitions Tribunal
sitting in Abuja.
A statement signed by the state Publicity Secretary
of the APC, Mr. Ita Awak, on Thursday, said the
APC was not surprised that Nwoko could use his
office to tell lies in order to misinform and mislead
Akwa Ibom public.
The statement read, “For the avoidance of doubt,
and to put the records straight, we want Akwa
Ibom people to know that the APC has presented
47 formidable witnesses, including a former Akwa
Ibom State governor and member of the PDP Board
of Trustees, Obong Victor Attah, and a former
member of the PDP Board of Trustees, Chief Don
Etiebet.”
