9ice Plans Comeback, Set To Release New Album

Alexandra Abolore Adegbola Adigun,
known in the music industry as 9ice,
is staging a big comeback to the music
industry after his brief romance with
politics.
The star and his producer, Dtunes, are
currently spending night and day at
the studio fine-tuning the singles for
his new album aptly entitled: The
Return of the King.
9ice is a celebrated singer and
performer, who becme very popular
after his Gongo Aso album of 2008
become a national anthem.
Alapomeji, as he is fondly called, has
since then released six albums and
won six awards.
However, his later works have
struggled to meet up with the
reception of his Gongo Aso album in
the market.
The Gongo Aso crooner’s foray into
politics after what seemed to be
flavourless career was no surprise as
the Ogbomosho, Oyo State indigene
maintained in an interview that his
music never lacked political
undertone.
“If you listen to my music, you would
notice that politics has been part of
me; it’s in my blood.”
Though Adigun lost the ticket to
contest for House of Representative
for Ogbomosho North/South and
Oriire Federal Constituency, his return
to the music industry, his last
instrument for passive political
participation, is laudable.
