Brown Ideye has been on an amazing form since
Pulis took over the club in January.
The record transfer from Dynamo Kyiv had been
blasted by critics and fans alike after
underperforming in his first 6 months in the EPL.
In January the club was ready to sell him to Qatari
club- Al-Gharafa but the move failed to materialize
and since then the 26- year old has experienced a
turnaround in his form and has scored four goals
from his last three games.
There are still rumours going around of a potential
sale of the player and Pulis has decided to beat it
out.
“He has certainly looked like a player we want in
the last couple of weeks. It is just confidence. He
has scored a couple of goals and the weight of
pressure and expectation on his shoulders, with
the fee and coming into a new country, a new
football club, it has taken all that weight off him.
We are delighted,” Pulis said.
When asked if there was still a chance Ideye could
move on in the summer, the manager said: “I have
not even thought about it. The only thing on my
mind is going up to the Stadium of Light on
Saturday and trying to get a result up there, which
we know will be very difficult.”
Ideye had asked the fans to have patience with him
during his early troubles but there had been high
pressure to get rid of him.
