“Nigerians should please pray for us,” were the words of Anthony Nwokolo, a victim of one of the multiple blasts that rocked Abuja on Friday night.
Nwokolo, one of the victims of Friday night’s bomb blasts told our correspondent that that he was lucky as his case was not as critical as the injuries sustained by many other victims who were being shielded from the public by some medical staff at the Trauma Centre of the National Hospital on Saturday.
He said he became afraid when he saw the number of victims that were “gravely injured” when officials from the National Emergency Management Agency were moving them from the blast site in Nyanya to hospitals within the Federal Capital Territory.
According to him, those that were with him when the blast occurred never suspected anything.
“But suddenly, I heard a very loud explosion and lost consciousness for some time,” he said.
He said, “I was first taken to a clinic at Nyanya and there they administered some treatment to me and to some of us that were initially rushed to the place. From there, we were moved to the National Hospital. Since yesterday (Friday) night they’ve been treating me.
“Presently, they have finished my treatment and have also finished treating some of us that sustained lesser injuries when compared to some other persons inside this Trauma Centre who are critically injured. Nigerians should please pray for victims of this blast, particularly those in critical condition because many of them are gravely injured and are facing serious pains.”
