Okorocha foundation to build school for Adamawa IDPs

Adamawa State Governor, Jibrilla Bindow, has approved the allocation of land to Rochas Foundation to build a school for Internally Displaced Persons in the state.

Bindow, who announced this in Yola, said the state government was committed to the education of its citizens.

He, however, appealed to well meaning Nigerians to invest more in education, adding that the sector was vital to social development.

The governor, who noted that the state was one of the educationally disadvantage, assured the foundation of assistance from the state government.

He commended Govermor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State for the provision of a secondary school for the less-privileged in Adamawa State.

“We can sacrifice anything for education because it is only peace that is as important as education.

“I am calling on well meaning Nigerians to take a cue from Rochas to invest more in education, especially by supporting the less privileged.

Okorocha, who is the Chairman, Rochas Foundation, said the construction of the school would start by January 2016.

According to him, the gesture is to fulfill a pledge that the foundation would build a school for the Internally
