SIX years ago today, On April 22, 2010, Nigeria lost its finest Indigenous rapper, DaGrin. Since his arrival on the scene, and unfortunate passing, Indigenous Hip-Hop has grown in leaps and bounds, with the likes of Olamide, Phyno and Reminisce taking street hip-hop to the mainstream market.
To mark DaGrin‘s Legendary status (which stays firmly intact, by the way), we celebrate his life with 6 “moments” in which DaGrin got us screaming for more.
From his unforgettable Jimmy’s Jump Off freestyle (the best till date), to his stellar features on hit songs by the likes of YQ and Oritsefemi, and then of course, the uber-insane “Pon Pon Pon” (arguably the best Naija rap video till date), sit back and enjoy these 6 moments specially put together for all DaGrin fans out there!
