By Johnny Edward:

Nigerian striker Gbolahan Salami opened his goal-scoring account for his Finnish side Kuopion Palloseura in their 3-2 loss at home to PK-35 Vantaa on Thursday.

Salami who was making his second start in the Veikkausliga restored parity for his side in the 11th minute after Aleksi Ristola had given the visitors a sixth minute lead.

But an own goal from his compatriot Azubuike Egwuekwe in the 36th minute saw the visitors take the lead again.

Mateo Miguez scored the winner in the 40th minute from the spot for Vantaa. Kuopion fought back in the second half and scored from the spot through Petteri Pennanen but that didn't stop them from losing their second game.

Another Nigerian Aliyu Abubakar was also in action for Kuopion while Paul Onobi was not listed for the encounter.

At the Rovaniemen Keskuskenttä stadium, the trio of Nnamdi Oduamadi, Taye Taiwo and Paul Onovo all featured from start as HJK were held to a 2-2 draw away to RoPS.

The Nigerian trio have all played three games respectively with only Onovo getting on the score sheet.
