Tanker Crushes Police Sergeant

A Police Sergeant attached to the Taskforce for
dismantling tanker traffic in Apapa area of Lagos
was on Tuesday crushed to death by a tanker.
Confirming the incident to the News Agency of
Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, was the
spokesperson for the Lagos State Police
Command, DSP Patricia Amadin.
DSP Amadin, who identified the deceased officer
as Lukas Abashi, disclosed that the driver of the
vehicle with Reg. No. ANC 66 XA escaped after the
accident. She said the police officer died on the
spot after the tanker ran him over.
The police image maker said the driver attempted
to escape with the vehicle, but for the intervention
of other members of the taskforce who used
motorcycles to pursue him.
