Traffic situation

The Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr. Boboye Oyeyemi, has expressed satisfaction with the traffic situation across the country during the Sallah celebration. He said there was no cause for alarm.

Oyeyemi said this in Ilorin, the Kwara state capital, while monitoring traffic on some major roads leading to Ilorin.

In a statement by the Head, Media Relations and Strategy, FRSC, Mr. Bisi Kazeem, on Saturday, the Corps Marshal said the operational strategies designed by the corps’s National Headquarters was to ensure that the Sallah celebration was crash and obstruction-free proved effective.

Oyeyemi noted that reports so far received from FRSC commands across the country indicated significant improvement in traffic management during the holidays, with indications of fewer cases of road traffic crashes and obstructions as compared to same period last year.

He said, “Yesterday, I personally monitored traffic on Abuja-Kaduna road. And today, I have just monitored the traffic on some of the major roads leading to Ilorin.

“From what I have seen here and reports so far received from across the commands, we are satisfied with the overall traffic situation across the country.”
