The Ekiti state government has issued a warning
to the All Progressives Congress (APC) political
appointees who served under the Dr. Kayode
Fayemi administration.
The government, in a release signed by the Chief
Press Secretary to Governor Ayo Fayose, Mr.
Idowu Adelusi said the Fayemi appointees “should
either pay the N109.4 million or return the vehicles
without delay to avert using the police to recover
the vehicles from them.”
According to Sahara Reporters, the affected
political office holders are the former Deputy
Governor, Prof Modupe Adelabu, former Secretary
to the State Government, Alhaji Ganiyu Owolabi,
former Commissioner for Works, Mr Sola Adebayo,
Fayemi’s Chief Press Secretary, Olayinka Oyebode,
former Commissioner for Education and APC
House of Representatives candidate for Ekiti
CentraI, former Commissioner for Information, Tayo
Ekundayo, former Commissioner for Finance, Dapo
Kolawole, among others.
The government revealed that all entreaties to the
APC chieftains to pay the N109. 4 million has
remained abortive as letters written to them was
never replied.
It is no secret that the Fayose administration has
been having a running battle with the opposition
party in the state since the inception of the barely
one-year old government.
Meanwhile, the Kano state governor, Rabiu
Kwankwaso recently berated Fayose, over what he
called the latter’s unguarded utterances.
