Fanendo Adi is delighted to be called up into the Super Eagles squad for this month's 2017 Africa Cup Nations qualifiers against Egypt, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The forward who plays for Major League Soccer side, Portland Timbers is one of the 42 players invited by Nigeria caretaker coach, Samson Siasia for the clash against Pharaohs.
"Glory to God. Woke up to one of the best news of my life. Wao am invited to the Super Eagles. Let's make the nation proud,'' Fanendo wrote on his Twitter handle.
Adi scored 18 goals in 39 appearances for Portland Timbers in the MLS last season.
The former Union Bank of Lagos striker once had stints in Slovakia, Denmark and Ukraine.
He will compete for a starting berth in the team alongside the likes of Odion Ighalo, Moses Simon and Chisom Chikatara.
