Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State says Nigeria and France must form a closer tie for mutual economic benefit.
He spoke during the visit of members of the Movement of the Enterprises of France, led by its Chairman, Perre Gattaz, to the Lagos House, Ikeja.
The governor, who received the envoy, accompanied by the French Ambassador to Nigeria, Denys Gauer, said the visit of the team meant a lot to him because both countries shared many things in common.
He said, “Your visit is important because of the fact that our country and your country, France, share some things in common, which I believe will further enhance the economic growth and development of the two countries.
“We are committed to creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and improve on the ease of doing business in the state.”
The governor explained that his administration was doing much on security to build a safer Lagos and make it habitable and investor-friendly, while also embarking on judicial reforms.
“Our administration places so much importance on security in order to have a safer Lagos, where investors will do business unmolested. Lagos is a place where you can trade,” he said.
Earlier, the Chairman of MEDEF, Gattaz, said he led the team to Lagos to discuss areas of business partnership in the country, especially in the state.
He said aside visiting Abuja, the team had been to the Eko Atlantic City and many other trade zones to see how they could partner with Lagos.
